Skills Shortages
24 August 2014
RC Jones invest in the engineering skills gap. RC Jones have found out recent times it is becoming increasingly difficult to find skilled traditional machinist's. We have decided to try and bridge the gaps by taking on 2 Apprentices. We will strive to develop their skills in manual machining whilst also training them to use our CNC machines. Our aim is to develop a skilled and adaptable set of work people on the shop floor so that they are equally skilled using traditional machining skills and the newer types of CNC machining. RC Jones is hoping that this forward planning will help us bridge the growing skills gap as more and more companies use CNC capabilities whilst the trade loses too many skilled workers as the retire. Our current workforce is well placed to help with many years of experience to pass on to our young enthusiastic apprentices.
